Hardware Engineer

At Pirxe, we're building technology that changes how brands create visual content.

We create photorealistic 3D digital twins of products, while our platform Moonbase turns them into marketing content at scale — hundreds of assets from a single product scan, without another photoshoot.

Now we’re looking for a Hardware Engineer — someone who combines hands-on engineering skills with a practical, inventive mindset to build and improve our multi-camera 3D scanning systems, from early prototypes to deployment in clients’ studios.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop proprietary multi-camera photogrammetry systems that create digital 3D models of products for fashion and e-commerce.
  • Select and integrate cameras, optics, lighting, power supplies, control systems, and structural components.
  • Build and commission prototypes — from initial concepts and assembly to testing and further improvements.
  • Develop camera synchronization and automated image capture, ensuring consistent, high-quality results.
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, and optimize scanning setups for reliability, ease of use, and cost-effective construction and maintenance.
  • Install and commission systems at clients’ studios, resolve technical issues, and prepare assembly and maintenance documentation.
  • Collaborate with software and 3D reconstruction teams to ensure the hardware captures images that meet the needs of the entire digital product creation process.

Requirements

  • You have hands-on experience designing, building, and commissioning hardware or integrated systems in electronics, mechatronics, automation, robotics, or machine vision.
  • You can take a project independently from an idea to a working prototype and share examples of solutions you have personally built.
  • You are comfortable combining electronics, mechanics, and control software, selecting and integrating components, and troubleshooting issues across these areas.
  • You have experience with cameras, lighting, image acquisition systems, or related technologies. Familiarity with photogrammetry, camera calibration, or 3D scanning is a plus.
  • You can use measurement equipment, read and write technical documentation, and document your own designs.
  • CAD design, rapid prototyping and 3D printing, PCB design, microcontroller programming, or scripting for test automation and hardware control.
  • You thrive in a startup environment: you take ownership of results, test ideas quickly, and choose practical solutions that address real needs.
  • You are comfortable working hands-on with hardware and participating in installations and testing at client sites.

What we can offer

We're an early-stage startup, so we won't sell you a long list of corporate perks.

Instead, we can offer:

  • competitive compensation tailored to your experience,
  • flexibility in how we work together — employment contract, B2B or contract of mandate,
  • real influence over a product that's still being shaped,
  • direct collaboration with the founders, product team and clients,
  • the opportunity to work at the intersection of design, AI and 3D technology,
  • a chance to help define a completely new type of design role.

If you're excited about building new creative workflows rather than producing another set of static assets, we'd love to hear from you.
